Choosing to live on the southern Oregon coast says a lot about a person. I personally enjoy the tranquility of the forest and the excitement of the ocean. Gold Beach is an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. I moved here with my wife Robin in 1975 from London, England. For her it was returning home, but for me it was the start of a continuing adventure.
Upon arriving in Gold Beach I went to work for my father-in-law, National Basketball Hall of Famer, "Laddie" Gale, at Sportsman's Realty, Inc.. He taught me the business and so much more about people. To him honesty went without saying and ethical behavior was essential. The firms' reputation was built on this, and when he retired in 1981, we made a pledge to maintain that reputation. In 2004 the firm became Rogue Sportsman's Realty, and I stepped back to being a broker and Dante Concetto, a long time friend and agent took over the ownership and running of the company.
Along the way the company has grown, now having a large professional sales staff. Small communities like Gold Beach give you the chance to get involved and I have served as; a State Director and President of the Curry County Board of Realtors, a board member of the Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the School Board and President of the Rotary Club.
Thirty three years, three daughters, three grandchildren and some gray hair later, I can say you will find no better place to make your home. If you love to fish, crab, clam, golf, hike, or just enjoy nature at it's finest, this area offers all of these and so much more. Having a friendly demeanor edged with a sense of humor helps me to put people at ease. Being able to work well with both buyers and sellers alike has made me successful. I listen and assess your goals and because of my experience give you valuable input and lay out the facts in an open, honest, easily understood manner. BJ came to Rogue Sportsman's Realty in 2003 from Montana where she had been a Realtor for 10 years and a broker with her own office for the last seven of those 10 years. She is licensed in both Montana and Oregon. She resides in Nesika Beach and had dreamed of being in the Gold Beach area for many years.
